Artist Statement
Danette Standing is the artist behind Standing Rattle. Handmade in Montana, Danette combines traditional and natural materials by using copper, seed beads, porcupine quills, antler, mirrors, and buckskin leather. Danette values quality workmanship that will stand the test of time.
Danette is an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes located in northeast Montana. She grew up on the reservation and after living away for 20 years has now returned home.
